Terms of service
Plain English, because you should be able to read this without a lawyer beside you. It sets out what we owe you, what you owe us, and who is responsible for the information your customers trust you with.
In effect from 9 September 2026.
1.Who this agreement is with
Tilly is operated by [to be confirmed] (ABN [to be confirmed]), and in these terms “we”, “us” and “Tilly” mean that business. “You” means the business that holds the Tilly account.
By creating an account or using Tilly you agree to these terms and to our privacy policy. If you are agreeing on behalf of a company, you are confirming you are allowed to bind it.
2.Tilly is in beta
Tilly is early software and we are being upfront about that. During beta, features will change, some will be added and some may be removed, and there may be faults. We do not promise any particular level of availability, and we are not offering a service level agreement.
You should keep your own records of anything you cannot afford to lose. We take backups and we take care, but during beta you should not treat Tilly as your only copy of your business records.
3.Your account and your people
You need to give us accurate details and keep your sign-in secure. You are responsible for what happens under your account, including what the people you invite do.
Every plan includes unlimited users. You will never be charged for adding your partner, an office person or a casual cleaner to the account.
4.Plans, allowances and what you pay
Plans are Solo, Team and Business. They differ in one way only: how many jobs you invoice through Tilly in a calendar month. Every plan includes every feature.
- Solo includes 85 invoiced jobs a month.
- Team includes 255 invoiced jobs a month.
- Business has no monthly job limit.
A job counts once, in the month it appears on an invoice you have issued. Quotes that never landed, jobs you never billed, cancellations and no-shows do not count towards your allowance. Draft invoices do not count, and an invoice you void does not count.
Prices are in Australian dollars and include GST unless we say otherwise. Some things cost us money every time they are used, such as text messages and Tilly's AI features. Those are charged separately from a prepaid balance you top up, at the rates shown in the app before you use them. If that balance runs out, only those metered features pause. The rest of Tilly keeps working.
We may change prices, allowances or metered rates. If a change affects what you pay, we will tell you at least 30 days beforehand, and you can cancel before it takes effect.
5.Your data belongs to you
Everything you put into Tilly stays yours. That includes your client list, your schedule, your quotes and invoices, your photos and your documents.
You give us permission to store and process that information for one purpose: running Tilly for you, including keeping it safe, backing it up and providing support when you ask. We do not sell it, we do not rent it, and we do not hand it to anyone else except the service providers listed in our privacy policy who help us operate Tilly.
6.What you are responsible for
Most of the information in your Tilly account is about other people, usually your customers and your staff. In privacy terms, that information is yours to answer for, and we handle it on your instructions. That means a few things are on you:
- You need the right to give us your customers' details, and you need to have told them how their information is used, including that you use a software provider to run your business.
- If you turn on staff location. Tilly can record where a cleaner is while they are on shift. You must tell your staff, clearly and beforehand, that this is happening and why. Some states have specific workplace surveillance laws. Getting that consent and meeting those obligations is your responsibility, not ours. The feature can be switched off entirely in Settings.
- Messages you send. When Tilly sends a text or email to your customer, it is sent on your behalf. Australian spam law requires you to have their consent and to identify yourself. You are the sender.
- Sensitive documents. The vault can hold things like key and alarm information and staff police checks. Only upload what you genuinely need, and only give access to the people who need it.
- Not using Tilly to break the law, or to store material you have no right to hold.
7.Tilly the assistant, and AI
Tilly includes an AI assistant. It can answer questions about your own business data, draft messages, suggest quote lines from photos, and propose changes to your schedule.
- The AI only ever sees your own account's data. It cannot see another business's.
- Your data is not used to train AI models, by us or by the AI provider we use.
- AI features are optional and metered. They only run when you use them, and they draw on your prepaid balance.
- We keep a record of AI activity on your account so you can see what was asked and what was suggested. Photographs you submit for a quote are not sent anywhere else and are not retained by the AI provider.
Our privacy policy explains exactly what is sent, when, and to whom.
8.Fair use
Do not attempt to break into other accounts, probe or interfere with the service, resell Tilly as your own product, or use it to send unlawful or misleading messages. We may suspend an account that is putting the service or other users at risk, and we will tell you why.
9.Cancelling, and getting your data out
You can cancel at any time. Your plan runs to the end of the period you have paid for, and we do not charge a cancellation fee. We do not generally refund part-months, except where the Australian Consumer Law requires it.
Before you go, you can export your data from the app. After an account closes we keep the data for 30 days in case you change your mind, then delete it. Backups age out after that. If you want it deleted sooner, ask us at privacy@meettilly.com and we will do it.
We may close an account that breaches these terms, or stop offering Tilly altogether. If we do, we will give you reasonable notice and time to get your data out, and refund anything you have paid for time you will not get.
10.Where we stand on liability
Our goods and services come with guarantees that cannot be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law. Nothing in these terms limits those rights, and nothing below applies where it would.
Beyond those guarantees, and to the extent the law allows: we provide Tilly as it is; we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, or for lost profits, lost business or lost data; and our total liability to you for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months before it arose. If you are on a free beta account, that amount may be nil, which is another reason to keep your own records.
11.Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. If a change matters to you we will tell you by email or in the app before it takes effect. Carrying on using Tilly after that means you accept the new version. The date at the top tells you which version you are reading.
12.Which law applies
These terms are governed by the laws of Western Australia, Australia, and the courts there have jurisdiction.
